What is Globalization? How is AIESEC a big influence in Globalization?

Globalization is the process of integration that comes from the interchange of world views, resources, ideas and aspects of cultures on a global scale.

Cultural globalization refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings and values around the world in such a way as to extend and intensify social relations. The internet has set the light to this conscious diversifying never-ending fireworks. It brings increasing interconnectedness among different population and cultures.

The global workforces play a big role in globalization. As people enlist themselves in the international labor pool, more competition will be involved in finding a job. As of 2012, there are approximately 3 billion workers in the global workforces. Finding the perfect one for the job can be very costly and time consuming for a company’s HR but that’s when AIESEC comes in.

AIESEC does that job flawlessly with its refined poll of talents focused on students abroad that come with open minds, diverse ideas and passion for their profession. We selects the most outstanding candidate in terms of professional and soft skills. The selected AIESECer will finally be engaged in their new internatioPicture1nal environment and realize themselves as a World Citizen.

For an AIESECer, being a World Citizen means that you are fully aware of the world around you by empowering others, being self aware and solution oriented in problems that you come across.

When interacting with other employees and having a collaborative workspace, the trainee understands how he/she can empower others.

By fulfilling challenging job description in an alien working environment, the trainee becomes solution oriented.

By understanding his/her key performance indicator and by receiving regular feedback, the trainee becomes more self aware.

Finally, by solving company issue and interacting with locals, the trainee begins to understand the culture and business norms thus making him/her a world citizen.
